tbh anyone could guess that valve are making an upgraded Source Engine, but it's now been confirmed that Source 2 is on it's way, and Source Film Maker is forwards compatable with it, or will be, as loads of references to Source 2 are in it's code. The engine is expected to be on the horizen, so Half-Life 3 will also prob be on the way as well, though if i remember right, wasn't CSS released before HL2? so maybe some other game will get released before HL3

Rumours were buzzing about this at the beginning of the year, circulating with an in-development MMO all papered-up and being planned to concur alongside it, instead of a Half-Life release. No truth in it, no official sources, no replies from anyone from Valve side although the journalists at GI.biz went whack for it Jan/Feb. After all Source went from what it was, to creating something like DOTA 2 so who knows what they'll do with S2.

yeah valve like to keep things quiet, and tbh they usually make something awesome with the things they keep quiet about, so best to trust they'll do the same again

Half-Life 3 confirmed at Gamescom

5th or 6th from Bottom, Valve's showcase is Half-Life 3.

EDIT: They edited the PDF and removed Half-Life 3 & Valve from the list. Cat's out the bag now though.

Was confirmed yday as a "genuine mistake", along with dragons age 3.

to be fair it might be a mistake... doubtful but maybe . not gonna get my hopes up though until something official is out there
