I appreciate my initial sentence came across wrong.
In my head starting the forums from scratch meant the forum package itself.
We will be migrating as much content as possible over with regard to users, topics/posts, avatars etc and placing them into the fresh boards.

Well that's the plan anyway.

Aside from criticising Neds coding, my main role is to try and keep the website and forums working / updated. of you have ideas for the community (which by being as active as you do, you are a part of) you can direct them to our Guest Handling Executive Yob - Kop (okay jokes done) or you can literally send one of us a message, post ideas on the forums. We are open to participation and ideas from the community! It's where most of what we have came from.

Hi guys and gals!

I have done a quick update of the Forums to the latest PhpBB version.

You will notice some slight differences, and some major ones.
One big thing is that we are still importing all the images such as smilies and some avatars, and we are staying on the default style until we can find a new one we like, or if Ned wants to try and make a new one!

Please bear in mind that the old forums are still actually active, so if anything does go wrong, we can relaunch the old forums from 00:00 on 24/01/15 quite easily without losing a single bit of data etc.


Any questions, queries - you can put them in this topic or whack them into a PM and I will Google a suitable answer

But good job, may need to rethink a colour for admins? Green does not work with this white background...

aye sort colours fast, fooking awful atm as looks like a shreadsheet or something lol cant tell what posts are new or where one ends and another starts

As the folks above, I agree on the colours. The red/white/black theme kinda matched the CiC logo. I understand you're probably more concerned with functionality than aesthetics at the moment, so if it helps, it still works good

Only other thing I could add is personally, I prefer the avatars etc on the left. It just feels more standardised.

Yeh the look and feel comes next once we have the basic functions back in as it is a totally new forum build, personally this is way too bright for my liking!
loads more to do yet then once this is designed properly will look at website matching theme

We are literally sat on the default phpbb style. The look and feel will come over time, just want to make sure nothing major breaks in general usage.
I will uploading the rest of the avatar galleries and smilies over the coming days as well as stress testing a few bits.
