so i just got in from watching my football team (Nottingham Forest) lose in the playoffs, and tbh, i couldn't be happier.
when we lost the first leg 2-1 to Blackpool on sat, one of my mates said he was gonna place a bet on Blackpool to win in the second leg, as he always loses his bets, and therefore jinx's himself. So i figured i'd do this.
First time i've ever done online betting, but if i go to the match itself i sometimes put a bet on for like first goalscorer or something, and i typically lose, well, always lose.
I went on William Hill's website, no particular reason i chose them, but i went looking a few bets and i came up with Forest winning in the first half and then Blackpool coming back and winning in the second half. For this i got 40/1 and put £20 on it. I figured that since i couldn't get a ticket for the match, i'd spend the ticket fee on the match, so before going to the pub i placed the bet and headed on out.
First half ends and Forest are up 1-0, so far it's working in that it's jinxing me for me to lose the bet.
Second half goes and Blackpool score, it's 1-1 and a draw is no good. The bet fails and forest also lose on agg.
Forest score again and it's going to extra time and i'm happy as we still look like scoring.
Blackpool manage to score another three and it's now 4-2 with like 10 mins left. we need to score 3 just to get extra time and we decide to bring on McGoldrick and Adebola, who are quite simply, SHIT, and they are strikers meant to pull us back.
We manage to get one back with 3 mins of injury time left via Adebola, finally does something good, but it ends 4-3 to Blackpool.
Forest lose and go out of the playoffs. However........... i just won £820 (£20 of which is my original steak)
Suck mah Ballz!!!!!
I'm disappointed that we didn't get into the playoff final and then premier league, but our team isn't good enough for that and would just get relegated or barely survive the prem, and so we get a season of winning again next season, which is fine by me, and i also get to buy a season ticket again.
So yay me, £800 to me
