:-5.0:

Hopefully i did the star rating correctly but if not it's supposed to be -5, and would be lower if i could.

Though i suppose this is mainly at sky's customer service, but it applies to sky as a whole tbh.

My experience with them was on a few occasions...

1) when i lived with my mum after leaving uni, we had several problems with our internet service from sky. They kept passing us around different people not knowing what the problem was when i described it in detail. I forget the problem however thats not the issue, the issue was that we was put on hold for 20mins before getting through with a recorded message that said "have you tried turning it off and on again" treating you like some kind of retard. Then 2-3 mins on hold with that recorded message between people, and every time passed on to someone else they would refuse to talk to me and would only talk to the bill payer before I was allowed to discuss the problem.

2) during setup in my new place i had to arrange phone, sky, broadband, etc. I wanted it all from sky, however i was told it takes 2 weeks to setup tv, then i'm allowed to phone in and setup the phone, and then 2 weeks after for internet. fine i thought... however after 4 weeks after the tv was setup i called in through my mums phone to see what was happening... apprently they entered my address in the system wrong. Where it said "house number" they only entered the house number, not the road name. they put the road name on the next line so the address was exactly correct, but because it was entered incorrectly it meant that they were unable to process it and they needed to cancel it before they can start the process again, which takes 30 days... not to meantion the 2 weeks after for setup and then 2 weeks for internet. I phoned BT, they said they could do it all in a week... it was done in 2 days.

3) That was all a couple years ago or so, now my step bro has purchased his dad's house from him that he used to rent and now wants to put all the bills in his name. To make life easier, he wants 1 bill for sky, phone and internet, so he's switching from BT to sky. BT are like fine sorry to hear your leaving, when do you want the switch off time and date? He gets that sorted within minutes of calling them up. Sky......... it's now 2 months since he canceled with BT and Sky have screwed things up so much that his home phone number has been lost for good and assigned to someone else because it was disabled for so long. Sky need to setup a brand new phone number for him and everything, but not only that, he was told he would get a call back once they've investigated the issue in about 30mins... it's a week since then.

Sky have to be the shittest company around.... you try to pay them and they are so incompitent that they don't even know how to provide a basic service that is literally clicking a button on screen

i would say that virgin isnt the best unless you get the scottish helpdesk (who can actually speak english and dont panick if its not on their script).
I think customer services is a tricky one which really taints your view of a company, 1 bad or 1 really good experience ends up making you feel a certain way whereas a run of the mill "it was ok" you tend to forget.

i would still always take Virgin over sky though as its an all round better product they sell.
