The Chromebook is a one of a kind net-book. Here is a nice list of things you can expect from the net-book.

Pros:
  • Boots up really really fast (about 6-8 seconds, 8 if computer is updating its operating system)
  • Boots up instantly when awoken from sleep mode
  • Computer keyboard has fairly large keys, nice for fat fingers (like mine)
  • Is always on-line, perfectly in-sync with your Google Drive. Everything is done browser based thanks to the new html5
  • Thousands of applications at the ready due to Google Chrome browser support
  • Update 20 came with Android Desktop
  • Free updates
  • No need for anti-virus system, contains one in the operating system
  • Great battery time. (Can last 8 hours by just browsing, text working etc)
  • Computer is very light, very portable. Works on-line and off-line
  • Tracker has smart features, like, double clicking, scrolling and dragging
  • On the fly brightness and volume changer with dedicated keyboard buttons
  • Has one HDMI slot
  • Has 2 USB slot (I think its 2.0)
  • Audio jacks
  • Has a slot for external cards
Cons:
  • No caps lock key
  • No real support (or apps) for FTP utilities. (So web developing is a pain, have to use browser alternatives like ShiftEdit)
  • Tracker pad can stop working now and then due to the heat spread sinking under it making the tracking thinking its a large thumb
If you have any questions towards the laptop I'll be more than happy to answer.

:4.0:
The chromebook is all you'll need for internet browsing, should it be writing documents or reading recipes it'll do both and more.

wouldn't say the lack of a caps lock key is a Con. I hate that button. Rarely, if ever, use it, and only times i use it i've pressed it by accident without realising and have to retype a whole sentence :/

I've never really had an incident with the caps key and it's useful for the things I tend to do on my computer. I find it far more difficult to type a sentence in caps with just holding down shift and hitting the keys down than just using my baby finger to tap the caps lock key.

What can a chrome book do? Scrap that, there's got to be a huge list of what it can't do? I've not really looked in to it, but it seems to me that it's just a google marketed netbook.. and those things were just... word processors and browsers.. And other basic rubbish for like a 60% markup?

Caps lock key is useless, it's only useful for things which you need a lot of hotkeys, although, ALT+ and CTRL+ and SHIFT+ and ALT+CTRL and CLT+SHIFT give you approximately 500 keyboard global hotkeys that one key shouldn't ever really matter, unless you have the typing speed of a pensioner. If anything I always accidentally hit it when I hit TAB in games and end up typing in CAPS.

I can't see how you gave this 4*. Surely the price/feasability is marginal compared to a netbook, lesser than a laptop and on par with a Pi, except it can't compete in price and has a screen/keyboard?
