well some guy added me to steam friends called "marko.tiepanne" and then changed their name to "STEAM VERIFICATION SUPPORT" and messaged me....

then they mysteriously went offline... either blocking me or going offline incase i reported, but i reported them before i said it

b0nes also had this happen to him, because i saw him say it in the WPTF2L channel, thats how i instantly knew it was a fake without reading what he said. but i still wouldn't have fell for it.... it also hints to me that they are getting usernames off wireplays usergroup, since thats the only group we have in common... though who knows how they are getting names etc.

just be careful of this happening though, and don't be fooled by it.

found he simply removed me from his friends list, since he's no longer on mine

whats funny is if u give ur password in caps like he wants then chances are they will never get it as most use lower and upper case

if you got the password though, it won't take to long to work out

Never give your password to anyone anywhere, steam already knows your password they will never ask for it.
There's also a nother more efficient scam.
You get a message that you were chosen for a free game award, it doesn't look fake at all, i'll try and find the pic of it to show you... you choose a game for the list and add your password ....

some one else has tried it. this time though they are stupid enough to join groups....

he's in CiC group. i don't have powers to kick or ban him from it, though i'm listed as an admin or officier, whichever it is it might need checking to give us permissions to kick/ban people, as otherwise the position is kinda worthless

Anyway, he epic fails at trying to disguise himself.... he called himself "Automatic Menssaging System" . He;s yet to reply to me though, even after all the abuse i sent him.


He's sending people chat requests, so accept and hurl abuse at him if he does it to you , if not, use the link above to go to his steam profile and report him for abuse in the top right corner of the page. more people do it the better tbh
