someones found a hidden vault on the first world bank map in payday. I can't hear the video walk through sound while at work, but it shows a large vault with loads of obscure stuff you have to do in order to reach it, and you get a shit load of gold for doing it.
might be worth a try to do it one day... but it's supposedly a long wave of being attacked while it breaks though, which is like a 2hr wait :S.
makes you wonder what other secrets are on other maps.

Re: PayDay, hidden vault
didn't know requirements as can't hear the video at work, but still it's good to see some developers are still putting easter egg things like this into games for players loyal enough to keep playing the game over and over and then over some more. I'm sure if it were a game we all played obsessively we'd be all over it regardless of the requirements.
So +1 respect to overkill software imo, since they didn't have to put anything like that into the game, and it wouldn't have been a simple thing to do.

Re: PayDay, hidden vault
there's more than 6 levels now and also there is different ways each one pans out at the start... it's not quite mirroring spawn locations and having a couple different game modes per map but...

i know what your saying though, but there's people out there who do like to do that so good that some game companies try to give some fans what they want, even if it's a very small minority that want that aspect of the game. Much better than the production line type of manufactured games you get from some companies these days.
anyway... what you saying
you used to play competitive TF2 for the amount of time that would take to grind this aspect of PayDay. Yeah there's more maps but you used to play when it was GranLands constantly with one standard clan setup. PayDay is objective based with variation to how you do those objectives, same as 5 point capture maps surely.
anyway, i'll shut up now cos it's starting to sound like i'm trying to argue a point when i'm just joking around

Re: PayDay, hidden vault
saw a vid of someone in there got like 5 levels from the gold was crazy.
as for time in a game some people do just have one or two main games that all their time is spent on (tanks and fm? ;P)
if one of your games happened to be payday then time wouldnt be an issue atall

I've got a sudoku and word game on my phone which I've been playing a lot recently as I've not been at my computer half as much as usual the past few weeks. I've loaded up SC2 quite recently had a few of that too, Black Mesa not so long ago, a bit of Diablo 3, some CSS, a bit of FIFA and Call of Duty (both on console) with the lads at social evenings.. uhm.. oh and doing some extra stuff at work and staying late most evenings too.Siege wrote:saw a vid of someone in there got like 5 levels from the gold was crazy.

To put a point to it, I haven't found many new games I would like to play for more than 5 minutes, because the end goal of them to me has changed, gaming has changed for myself and the industry itself.
The industry is geared up right now for cost-effectiveness, which means lots of sequels and a lot of unoriginality, I don't even need to name that. Even the originals are cost-induced, one game I'd love to play but I don't want to pay on it right now is Dishonored, which takes a lot of influence from a lot of other games, notably Bioshock and Skyrim was the main influence for a lot of character, animation and art direction; which developers admitted to proudly, because if you can get something cheap, easy and directed, heck, why pass that up? Although it just shows the state of play in the industry when they're thinking more about cutting corners than the innovation of the late 90s / early 00s.
Secondly the very few games I'd buy, like dishonored are not too pricy, I think they're a fair price, however for the amount of time I will sink in to them right now, they're too pricy for me. I've made it common knowledge that I'd only play Borderlands 2 for £10 or less for example. Although yeah, FM and Tanks are not only games I can sink time in to, however their framework is structured that I can play casually and also multi-task at the same time, so I can play FM while I watch the football or tanks while I watch my series/movies. A lot of, if not most games, I prefer to put all of or just simply require a lot more attention that I can't or won't do as I watch a series/TV etc.
tldr; games are getting shitty, they cost too much for what they are for me time wise and that's a rather long reply to a schneide yet probably quite harmless dig.

Re: PayDay, hidden vault
quite enjoyed Dota 2 last night (ty for that btw
) few bits annoyed me, like could have done with a camera zoom, and some sort of obvious tutorial that tells you how to play the game and not, just click play... what there's like 200 characters??? pick one in 30seconds plz, and takes like 45-50mins to finish they annoyingness.
First kind of game i've played like that. nothing new to it i bet but seemed original to me since i've never played that style of game. Anyway, found a character I enjoyed playing for me second game and only took 20-25mins this time, so it wasn't annoying as hell. Would be good to play with a team of CiC.
from what i experienced though, there's only 1 map
