Re: Technical advice needed sort of...
Hi Ned...I bought a Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 1333mhz fsb etc (2nd Hand) and for some reason it wont recognise all 4 cores with apic setting in bios enabled, but works fine with it disabled, but only shows as a single core? If I enable apic in bios, we get bsods..usually pfn_corrupt_list or something, and sometimes memory_management...using Win 7 32bit, happens on 64bit also...doing our heads in lol..any help is greatly appreciated and we are willing to pay with Jaffa Cakes for any help you may give haha!

bit hard to diagnose remotely.
but guess #1: your page file is corrupt. You can fix this by setting virtual memory to "no paging file", then reboot, then set page file to whatever settings you want. that should stop windows dying.
check in windows thru task manager to see how many threads windows thinks you have.
let me know

Cheers ned, I reinstalled Win 7 64bit, with acpi apic enabled and so far so good, all four cores display in task manager, havent changed virtual settings yet but threads as of now are 887/886 variable in TM....but system is stable at the moment although getting windows module install errors randomly.
