Recently got new laptop with windows 8 on it, my god it sucks!
Updated to 8.1 to get a "menu" - not a menu but a right click text list.
So after forcing the computer to boot to desktop rather than stupid widgets/blocks http://www.pcworld.com/article/2043243/ ... s-8-1.html i then installed a start menu to run over the top, tried a couple and checked for function and malware/advertising on free ones and the one i chose seems good and stable (just avoid the 2nd press ok to install some sort of windows optimiser) and is free and available from http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php#none
Oh yes and the god menu also works from the other threads and good luck on un-installing all the xbox crap from it too, takes hours
