Game:FTL:Faster than Light (Advanced Edition)

Post by siphio »

"Really difficult resource-management sim-roguelike" sounds about as much fun as "spreadsheet simulator '98", but bear with me.

FTL was released way back in 2012, and a free Advanced Edition expansion came out last month and introduced a ton of new content to the game. You are the commander of a spaceship on a critical mission to deliver intel vital to the overthrow of the Mega Evil Empire(tm). In true Dark Souls fashion, you'll die over and over again, losing all progress and starting afresh - but the game is never frustrating and you rarely feel like there was nothing you could have done to prevent your crews grisly demise.

FTL: Advanced edition is £6.99 on steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/) for windows, OSX and Linux (but has been part of a couple of Humble Bundles, so you may already own it). It's also available for iPad, and is absolutely worth your time.

This I enjoy too not had much luck unlocking some of the ships but good fun and different 'challenges' each play through.
