Vysixo wrote:As the server is limited to 1.000 metres because not a lot of people have good computers which changing the view range to 2.000 metres would cause them to lag. This script "Change view range with Range finders" would help out everyone on the server. Either someone with a great computer would be able to set there view range to 3.000 metres or someone playing with a laptop who are already having problems with the 1.000 metres would be able to change there view distance to something lower.

I am sure this is the script link:

This Youtube video shows the mod:

Ghost of Chernarus : http://epochmod.com/forum/index.php?/to ... -map-pack/

We had this on our old server. It makes the trade zones look way better...some would say utterly stunning in fact.
You can add in the parts you want so as not to override something already in place on the server too.

* There's also a plot pole mod out there somewhere too with a built in zombie shield that I'd like to recommend as well, but I can't find it atm.

A few of the guys I talked to feel that this would be very useful to have in game, and with the amount of owned vehicles around I have to agree them...

I reckon the trade from back pack and vehicle find would be good mods. How bout one with a countdown timer for sever restart? Either way, all the hard work you guys put into the sever is awesome !!!

there should be a countdown for the restarts 15 mins b4 it happens.
we did try adding the timer to the insert panel but it will only count from the last restart so if we have to bounce the server it will be out and as the timer doesn't start immediately on server restart its never accurate enough.
I will look at some of the vehicle issues first along with log in and AI missions but will get there in the end

Your doing a great job Ned ! Just wish I knew why the server was so laggy at the mo for me, I know there's old bases on it but I was on a different server the other night that had some really butt ugly bases on it near stary and there wasn't any lag :?

Either way, I still say yours is the best DayZ server by far ! The admin are great and the people we have on the server are awesome ! And I am grateful for all the hard work you put into it and letting us play on the server you pay for

i know back in the days i used to play DayZ having decent server admins was always the main reason for sticking around. Tbh it's the same for any game which has a server.... good admins = good times. Doesn't matter what mods you have, you can't mod shit admins :D

Anyway i know neds working on making things more awesome so i'm glad you guys are liking the server :D

I very much agree about the admins - it's the main reason for sure. But in my limited time here and from my own perspective, without a certain level of player activity on the server, held together by an adult and friendly atmosphere, where fixes and updates are sort out to problems with the addition of some well picked addons, I'd guess that most players would likely drift away after a month or two.

It's the overall blend of things that both attracts and will keep people playing here - it stands out from the crowd due to all the above points I feel.
