Security Vehicle Hunt ENDED

Post by red_ned »

What's Sunday without a risk?
This hunt is a little different than other ones as the vehicle location is in a PVP zone.
Why is it in a PVP zone? Cus we are evil that's why.
The vehicle itself is an SUV but has had all 4 upgrades to it; engine, steering, armour, fuel size and gear size. Oh yeh, its also full of things that help you secure your base or gold.
There is AI in the area and today there will also be unhelpful admins to make it a little trickier.

Well done to the group including Emelie, Mad Frankie and Biteshten for killing me and Juggati and claiming the prize.
It was fun and I hope we can do more of this type of risk event in the future.
Please post any thoughts, ideas or suggestions for future PvP/PvA events so we can improve them.

thanks

A belated thanks for running this event guys and for being good sports. I doubt we would have faired too well at all if you'd have been in gillie suits and I think everyone gained from the experience as a whole.

Thanks.

We did try to balance how powerful our guns were and how obvious we were to spot. i think Emelie was a little put out about dieing but hopefully learned how not to scout and then rage.
We could do with ideas on how to make the event last long enough for more to join in but us not slaughtering everyone coming near, i do think that people thought the admins wouldn't kill them, which turned out to be incorrect!
Suggestions always welcomed

With the greatest respect to admins and players.. The vehicle was put in a PVP area and the event was described as having admins in there too who would be fighting.
Basically.. This type of event should be designed to bring groups together.
They should expect a battle, and death.
We set up giveaways where people merely find rewards. Now we are trying to allow people to fight for a reward.

That's just the view of an outsider..

It was as in the end the group of 3 got it together and used a pincer movement.
Was a learning curve for us as admins as to how hard it should be and luckily as there was only 2 admins the players didn't outnumber us too badly and we gauged on how difficult to make it accordingly.
Only one player didn't expect us to actually kill them and after she finally killed Juggati (on the 2nd attempt) i was left vrs 2 players so kept moving around a bit so at least i could be seen rather than hiding in a bush making it much more difficult as this was the first time we attempted it.
Next go i think people will be more prepared on both sides as the admins were not going to re-spawn but the players were so I presumed they would have a plan to get players back to the area quickly, but not that many were on at the time and that meant a delay in people getting back to have another go and so we didn't play it really hard. Next time though........

That's it Ned.. Moving forward, I think these types of events need to be ones where players get together and have a slobberfest against admins who are actively trying to kill them. It could take 10 minutes (players work well together) or an hour (admins work well and hold them off).

Sounds like it was a good first go, and I look forward to hearing how future ones go!!

Maybe a marker on them stating whether it'll likely be Easy, Medium, Hard or Extreme, just like the in game missions, might work. That way people will hopefully get the general idea about what to expect without you having to spell it all out every time. Just a thought.

map markers require restarts and cant always decide where they are as you don't want to be close to a mission or some ones base

I just meant the double-click on the map type of map marker. So an Admin would put "HARD" just above a PvP area for example,if it's based there or in the sea at the bottom of the map maybe if you don't want to name a location for an event. You could put one on the map and then tell everyone to get their stuff together and organised and that the event marker is up - then 30 mins later the event goes live.
