What are you playing? What do you think CiC maybe should field a team in?
Should we look at some public server to help get more people into the community?
Give me some ideas.
Dont forget we can host sites and stuff (within reason) so we can expand as we want and we will be looking at CS:GO when its out so that should be covered.
Ideas here please

Re: What new games?
has csgo got a release date yet?
not many usually seem bothered about starting a game seriously, like doing the whole public server thing or getting a proper team going, CiC seems a "play for fun" type clan atm... thats not a bad thing at all, it just limits us in terms of gaining new members. We just need that one game and a dedicated few to get a public server going for it... like nightly, not just one off's. Like i say though, thats going to be difficult to do because of the way CiC currently works, until a game like csgo comes out that is.
personally i'd be willing to do a basic TF2 public server but like a 24/7 type server but I don't really fancy doing the whole, trying to fill the server with 1 or 2 people thing again, cos thats always a massive pain that just puts you off playing

Re: What new games?
the phrase "next big game" is relative. Who cares if a game sells 1,000 copies or 100,000 or whatever... chances are 99% of CiC will buy and actively play CSGO alot and so it's obviously a great opertunity for a public server that people will fill daily.
Also if you don't think Valve are gonna shove their marketing machine behind CSGO then your a tad retarded.

Re: What new games?
I imagine people will want to buy guild wars 2 when its out and i know quite a few cicers will be interested.
CSS:GO i wont be getting i dont think as i dont really play much of the original but i reckon it could be quite popular. I really think that we need to think about what people could be playing before thinking about a server to be honest we only have to look at the icebox to know sometimes its not really a good idea.

Re: What new games?
best way to do it is to find a game that looks like it might be interesting before it's released and then try and drum up interest by posting stuff about it every so often on here, like I been doing with GW2... people may still buy it despite what i've been posting, but can't hurt to try and make people think they might be missing out

Re: What new games?
You might want to sign up to gamesindustry.biz and keep in with that before you call someone a tard retarded, CSGO is marketed at console gaming.
Even to someone not reading industry articles it's clear from their design decisions, familiar maps with new graphics levels, the same style of play, match making systems, brushed up sounds.
My own opinion is that CS:GO is aimed at competing with MW3 and BF3 for multiplayer gaming space. There's several reasons for this, one being Valve are pushing a drive towards console development more so now because of the profitable margins on games on those platforms, Steam will continue to always be a money maker for the giant on the PC platform and they're also pushing that further on the PS3 by driving development of games towards consoles; ergo more all round sales and in particular core to Valve.
Secondly, Counter-Strike & Counter-Strike Source are first and third respectively on the steam gaming stats and always bang around that area. They're not looking for an increase in player count for the PC platform. Judging from the past, where CS 1.6 still remains around 30% more popular than Source, they're not looking to generate a whole lot of profit from the drive on PC to CS:GO. If anything they'll get a fractured community on the PC as those on 1.6 are more than likely to stay there, as GO is still a Source product. An arbitrary amount of Source players will move to GO although the majority will still stay on Source, why? PC gamers have always heralded game play above aesthetics. GO being a further Source product and moving more towards the BF3 and MW3 arena will only put those off who want their faster paced terrorist action to run on their rig, most of whom may already own BF3 and MW3.
Thirdly, a lot of the Counter-Strike community and indeed the Source engine based community like to live with their computer as much as possible. It's more than conceivable, and this point being more of my own opinion than the other two having clear facts behind them, that a lot of Source gamers will remain on Source and not shift over to GO on system requirement and computer load. Of course a lot of hardcore gamers do keep up with the pace, although most of gaming on consoles and PC platforms are filled up by casual gamers. As it stands there's often on a week day around 75k 1.6, 50k Source gamers. I expect after the initial 3month settling in period where games are popular via Steam, PC platform will declined to less than that of the Source gamers, I expect at best for them to keep up with it if they can convince some of the harder Modern wWrefare crowd to leave MW3 behind.
It's not really a fourth point but bare in mind, the Modern Warefare community fractured and considerably smallness on the PC platform when MW2 came out and match making was introduced and dedicated server system went out. It's something to consider with GO, I haven't read the full detail on the match making system, although it's not something gamers on the PC platform appreciate compared to the console platform.
In short, I'm not a tad retarded for thinking GO will not be big on the PC platform. If all of CiC (and indeed myself my well do) purchase and play the game, it does not prove that on a mass marketing scale it will be a huge success for the PC. Console though, that's where the money is, we'll have to see if the longevity matches yearly editions of Battlefield and Modern Warefare though, on all platforms.
