Facebook- kind of.

It's not really that big as facebook, but people are signing up and getting disappointed.

they only disappointed cos it's testing phase really and invite only. Kinda like gmail was originally. Everyone can't have it so they'll say they're disappointed in it cos they can't use it yet. Either that or the people who can use it can't add their friends because their friends can't use it so they can't add stupid amounts of random people they don't know properly.

Then there's also the fact that there's no random games they can play because no one has developed stuff for it yet, or any other random useless crap like that that people can spam you with.

No advertising on it also, which looks good.

Overall it's cleaner than facebook, but is just a rival with a few smarter features. Not much to do on it as of yet though, but it's to be expected because it's beta.

Will it overtake facebook? unlikely... but thats what people said about facebook when MySpace was the fad of the day

facebook is VERY different to myspace tho, by the sounds of it google+ is the same with less "fun" factors like games

myspace is/was essentially the same thing though. social networking and all that.

Google+ will likely have all the crap on it that Facebook has though, just at the moment it's just like a news feed for people your following etc. You could say it's a combo between Twitter and Facebook. Twitter doesn't have any of those "fun" type things that Facebook has, but it works for what people need.

Regardless if Google+ is a hit or not, it's good to be in there when it's being built from the ground up to see how it develops, and lets face it, Google is big enough to make it into a success if it wants to. They've got their hands on everything they need really, it's only beta atm, and if they REALLY wanted to, they could just as easily link it up to Youtube and combine the two in some way. If they could do that it would be an overnight success. All they need atm is stress testing and all that, all the boring bits figured out, then throw all the extras into it and bingo
