TV Show: Teen Wolf

Post by Nagash »

Loosely based on the setting that was provided by the Michael J Fox film of the same name, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer was with, um, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Teen Wolf now does a similar thing. a obviously teen focused horror drama, but with Werewolves.

this kind of thing i'd usually take with a pinch of salt, expecting it to be very poor at best, but tbh, it's very good, and very manageable on the TV diet... as it's only 10 episodes long per season.

Season 1 deals with becoming a werewolf and it conflicting with school life, but also there is a murder mystery, which at first seems very typical of a teen drama akin to buffy, eg predictable, but then has a few twists, another few twists that make you think it's obvious, then a few more twists. All along to good fight scenes and some gory stuff. You'd think it wouldn't be that gory... yes it's horror and werewolves eat people etc, but it's a teen drama so you expect it to be heavily toned down, and while it's not an 18+ standard, some scenes are very 12-15 standard.

Season 2 deals with a new type of beast that is being controlled by someone, but by who? Similar sort of setup as the first season but with less school references and more about one of the werewolves making a wolf pack, hunters and a murder mystery.

if you liked Buffy, definately worth a watch
