Only recently noticed this forum topic and realised I've not really said much about myself.
I am a middle aged slob on the long old slog to retirement which thanks to the gov reform of my pension scheme is now 65
I lived mostly in the west midlands up until 2003 when I moved north with the folks though I now live in the kingdom of Fife in Gordon Bown's consitituancy & for the record, I didnt vote for him.
My first experience with computers was with the spectrum loading those tape games at a friends house, my folks got me a commodore 64 and I moved onto the Amiga 500 followed by the Amiga 4000 which I still have kicking around somewhere. My first pc was a 486sx 25 which I upgraded to a dx4 100. There followed a succession of Dell desktops before I built a pentium 4 machine just before I went to Germany for a yr.
My current desktop setup has: a 128gb SSD, a 2tb smasung hdd, a core 2 quad at the last stepping, an nVidia GeForce gtx 460 with 1gb ram onboard, 8gb ram and two 22 inch monitors.
I've had a few consoles with the sega megadrive then the playstation and both the original xbox and the first gen xbox360 and I still have them all in working order though I seldom play any of them even the 360 with an xbox live sub.
I've been on steam since half life 2 came out but my first foray into internet gaming was with C&C red alert though i did also play C&C over a modem the one time.
Now I'm playing World of Tanks, War Thunder, Tetris, angry birds and just recently picked up red orchestra 2 in a sale on steam the other week.I have modern warfare 1&2 but have only played the single player and dont have them installed since my last rebuild.
