If you go in expecting to see a master piece, you've gone to see the wrong film.
Expecting plot twists? ... there is one or two but it's not major and you can see it coming a mile away.
Want good quality fight scenes? This is for you!!!
Tbh i was expecting some kind of greek mythology type film but it's not, it sets it more in reality... obviously in the greek past but it's still more "reality" based. For example, Hercules has all these other people around him and he is pretty much an awesome fighter and extremely strong, and since he's that strong in the time he's in, people think he's strength is from the gods etc... so one of his tag alongs who isn't a fighter is a storyteller/bard type, and he always goes in first and spreads the stories of Hercules being the son of Zues, which puts more fear into people, which spreads around the place and makes hercules a legend, so the greek mythology bits are generally people's fears or this guy telling stories and it showing them on screen.
That's all pretty much explained in the first 10 mins of the film, or rather it's more implied, which is done well with good cgi effects etc.
Where this film is good though it's it's battle sequences. It's generally not 1 on 1 fights but more Hercules training an army and then that army going into battle. There's no shocks or anything in this film, you get that vibe right away... all the main characters are basically untouchable and don't get picked off for extra drama, so it's just a case of enjoy the ride ands put up with the predictable storyline
