It's hard to say what it's about without ruining some surprises here and there so i'll describe some of the opening scenes.
A passenger plane is about to land going to New York, standard set of passengers, nothing unusual going off and then it's coming into land and the stewards heard something in the maintenance hatch at the back... they lock it up, something bursts though as the plane is landing.
The plane stops, all windows are closed but 1, all lights off, all communications are dead, no one is alive inside... all emergency services scramble and loads of people are trying to claim the plane for their authority.... enter the CDC (centre for disease control) who claim first entry to the plane because it looks like something has contaminated the plane and killed everyone...then dead bodies start waking up and the people appear normal... however later on the dead bodies disappear and everyone is like wtf
People are being paid to cover stuff up and loads of stuff goes down.
First few episodes are great because it takes itself seriously and everything is unknown... the later episodes are still great but they are good in a different way, because the virus mystery is pretty much solved, but because the CDC and airline doesn't want to admit responsibility the virus has spread throughout Manhattan and potentially beyond... so fixing things is the end of the first season.
13 episodes total for season one and i believe it's been picked up for a second season.

definately worthy of a 5 star rating.
If you don't like horror based stuff though, it's not for you.
