SECTOR FNG REVIEW (Hints & Tips)

Post by Troy »

Hey all,

Quick review of last nights siege on SECTOR FNG.

First off what a challenging area!! It has sniping elements like Skalisty Island and FPS elements (ai city).

I was first on server after reset and Ned gave me a heads up as the new addition. I found out I had spent 20bc on something unnecessarily so rather than ragequit I decided to go on a suicide mission to SECTOR FNG.

I went in alone, semi prepared (at least I thought so) and found a nice spot on the mountain overlooking the base. Through my scope I noticed some 50cal protection in the mist so I proceeded to take a few out. Unbeknownst to me the ai helo circling overhead has a tendancy to seek out and destroy which forced me to change strategy.

My sniping skills are sub-par so I knew I needed a lot of ammo, however backup was paramount to my success as my infiltration skillset is somewhat undesirable.

Ive been on Mala's 6 through the AI City maze before and know he has balls of steel, a rare breed who can run the gauntlet in under 15 minutes so when he asked if I needed backup I of course happily accommodated his offer.

Mala went in on foot whilst I took out the rest of the 50cal perched atop, and proceeded to provide cover support in the centre as Mala created an ai massacre around the perimeter.

Needless to say this is a very difficult base to invade and team efforts are recommended.

Several loot boxes are to be found throughout the base and yield more booty than AI City.

Hearts will pump, tears will flow, but all in all a welcome addition and challenge to the ever evolving virtual world we call home.

Tips:

Dont flyover for a peek
Bring plenty of ammo & a couple of supplements
NW of FNG has a nice group of trees and provides sufficient cover for the snipe team
Ground team needs to watch their flank especially if they hear a chainsaw starting up
Dont get attached to your shit

Happy assault and a big appreciation goes to Ned, Prad, Kroe and Frankie for their efforts in bringing a new level of adrenaline to the server.

Regards

Nice review, Troy, and gratz to you and Mala on the first successful raid of the place.

I went up there yesterday in the daytime while there was good visibility and took out about two thirds of the AI from sniping and my BTR-60, but was absolutely shattered and went to bed after that, leaving the clean up and spoils for anyone that wanted it.

I like the general layout of it, the fact that it's way out of the way of anything else, the placement of the MGs and the mixture of differing protective objects and buildings in it. A two or three person team is a lot more advisable than doing it solo for sure, as it can take an age if you don't want to die at all (like me) and getting back to your body could well be problematic too.

All in all a really nice addition I feel.

Superb review, thanks for the heads up on this sector. Yeah frankie and I were there yesterday on the mountains 1km away and were still being shot at.
