It has been signed up for a second season already 
It has a few filler moments imo, and a few bits i would have expected to be reveals in a second season, though really enjoyed it...

As you all know unless you've been living under a rock.... Marvel has a cinematic universe... with Daredevil starting it off, Marvel and Netflix are making a Marvel TV universe.
Daredevil is known as a street level hero, Avengers is "global", meaning heroes like Daredevil don't have the means to get around like other heroes do. He's a hugely popular character and sells lots of comics though, so they wanted him to have his own thing.
Hence the Marvel TV Universe, which involves....
DareDevil = Spring 2015
Jessica Jones = Fall 2015
Luke Cage = Spring 2016
DareDevil = (likely Spring 2016)
Iron Fist = Fall 2016
The Defenders = 2017
If the other characters are popular as well, they'll get second seasons, but if they are average they'll just get in the Defenders series instead.
The TV series may change these things around a bit, but each series is about...
Jessica Jones is about a superhero who basically quits being a superhero and becomes a private detective
Luke Cage will appear in Jessica Jones' series. His background is "framed for a crime he didn't commit", he then gets the superpower of unbreakable skin and superhuman strength.
Iron Fist is a martial arts expert who learns the ways of the mystical "Iron Fist". He also part of a comic series with Luke Cage called "Heroes for Hire", so i'm sure that'll play a part in it.

Season 2 is out as of friday so i have got through 4 episodes so far.... still great

yeah, on episode 9 now myself... pretty good watch tbh, better than season 1 in some ways as well but i think it's mainly because he's already daredevil, last season he wasn't that character until right at the end.
