Re: website
final attempt at comms:
themas the other tickets you raised havesome info on could you please tell me why you think the site was compromised as no logs show any issues and so noone else (as far as i can tell) is running an irc bot from my website (unless theres some code somewhere i dont know about).
The java irc client has been removed for now (although the 3rd time you moved the files it wasnt in the htdocs anyway so dont know why it came up again) i am going to move the rest of my files back now as i cant see anything else and if you can let me know on the java irc client (pixx i think its called)
meHi neil perrett,
Thank you for your query
There is no reason you shouldnt be able to use a Java IRC client, however your particular site was causing server resource issues which is why it was suspended. Has your site a sudden influx of users connecting to your IRC server via the website? If this is the case then that may explain why you havent encountered issues until now.
My advice would be to double check your scripts for anything that may have been added maliciously or that you are unsure of, you can then attempt to run the applet again.
Kind Regards,

the java client was only used by about 4 people a month as my clan uses irc clients mostly so its just for visitors. I cant find anything else in the code, i do run 5 websites (2 are historic) and a forum (phpbb v3) but nothing is particularly high volume or load, i even compressed and deleted a load of files to make the website smaller as i recieved no details for 5 days.
I would like to be informed more quickly when issues occur and it would also be nice to get some detail on issues if you can trace what part of the webspace is generating these process spikes then i can clean code or whatever it needs. for now im putting my irc client on another webspace incase it is pushing things over the edge.
I must say i am disapointed with the communication recieved over these issues and am currently looking at other web supliers but up to this point i had had very few issues until about 2 months ago with speed and reliability and now support has failed too and i have my clan members to think about with everything failing for several days and unable to use the websites for what they were purchased for.
thanks
