Ok, about 3 weeks ago, i placed an order for Sky TV, along with Phone and Broadband thrown in. The engineer was booked to do the sky tv order, come around and hook it all up etc.
One day passes and i get all skytv documents, inc viewing card.
one week passes and no word about phone or broadband so i call up.
40mins and being passed around 4 people later, i'm told that the phone can't be booked in until skytv is active (even though skytv is hooked up to the phone line), but everything is on my record and will be placed auto.
engineer comes around 4 days early after phoning up 8pm the night before he comes early, telling me to make sure i'm in between 9am-Midday. Luckily i call my sis who is available to stay in while i'm at work.
Now a week later (present day) i phone up sky because i've heard nothing from them. they say i'd be contacted within a day of sky being active about my phone, but i give it a week incase of it's a letter and slow mail. I'm passed around between 3 different people. First one tells me i can't place the order until skytv is active (i already gave her my details and my account is on her screen), i inform her that i've been watching skytv for the last week and heard nothing from them, and so she passes me on to an indian guy who has a faulty mic which keeps fading in and out :/. He tells me my phone line got refused and passes me onto someone else who can help. took him 5mins to tell me that one line cos he kept fading in and out.
Next guy was helpful, however, he tells me that my phone line application was refused at day one, in fact it was refused when they made the original order. You see instead of putting the house number in the field that reads "House Number" they put it in the line of the address field. The address read correctly, but because of this, they refused it, and decided not to tell me. The only reason i got sky tv was because it made everything else cheaper, and now they locked me in to sky tv for minimum a year. Oddly enough the address worked fine for the skytv setup.
But ok, it's getting sorted right, all is fine. Nope... the order exists on their system for my account number, so therefore they can't place the order twice. The only way to place it would be to cancel it, and even though it's sky's fault, it takes a maximum of 30 days to cancel it off my account, and until that happens, i can't have it. Then i have to phone up again to place the order for phone and broadband. The phone will take 14 days to connect and then a further 14 days to receive broadband, no exceptions.
So because of their fuck up, putting 1 number in the wrong place, i have to wait 2 months to get back online.
So i called up BT... i was with them at uni, i never had any problems, i had a "2" ping in TFC on a good day and "6" on a bad, and my dad's an engineer at the exchange

So i can't see how sky can take 3 months to connect you online and BT only 2 weeks. it's utter bollocks tbh. BT might not have the best rep for gaming, but i can get 6mb speed in my area, maybe 7mb, compared to my 2mb before, and a decent speed is all i ask for, well that and decent customer service, the kind of service that doesn't give you any shit.
