Victor Chandler's Potential £6m Payout
Thu 22 Oct 2009
Nottingham Forest main sponsor Victor Chandler is sweating over a potential £6m payout if the team win the Championship.

Chandler, Chairman of the company that bears his name, has offered to pay for supporters season tickets for next season if Forest win the league.

At the time of the offer Forest were rated as 40/1 outsiders, but following their run of five consecutive wins Chandler now rates Forest only a 7/1 chance to win the Championship.

Victor Chandler commented: "I am delighted with the response I have had from Forest fans and to see the team doing so well. When I looked at sponsoring a team in the summer we were looking for a large club with the potential to return to the Premier League and I think we found the right team.

"I know there is a risk of a huge payout but I'm still cheering on Forest, although if I'm honest I think I'd prefer to see them promoted as runners-up rather than as Champions!"

Chandler also revealed that he hopes to attend his first Forest match before Christmas. He added: "Unfortunately I have been unable to make any of the games to date, so have been confined to watching the matches on TV, but I hope to attend a match soon".
lol they getting worried this early in the season.

Forest have currently got a 6 match winning streak, and 5 match cleansheet streak as well :D, which includes some high profile matches for the division, inc Newcastle.

kinda stupid to give a team 40/1 odds to win the league, as well as free season ticket renewels. i still don't think forest will win the league, but we in the right direction, only 2 points a drift off the top spot :D.

VC might have a good advertisement ploy in this, but it's an expensive one. £6m is a lot for any company, and £6m is only a guess, could be as high as £10m, but minimum £4m :D
