That news story is pretty much doing guesses as to what it means, since no real explanation of the video was given, though valve have updated regarding the video.
The video is some marketing guy getting over excited and releasing the video to early. It was thought that before it was going to be a prequel to L4D and somehow the raid by the PayDay crew makes a virus break out and start the L4D stuff. Now though valve have confirmed that this is 100% an Overkill production (PayDay creators) and it's simply a raid on Mercy Hospital, there is no canon based on the actual L4D storyline, though there will be a bit of a cameo from a L4D character.
Looks pretty good from the video, might have to start playing PayDay again
